Solution
I've got a solution to all the Lions' problems: they need to play in a Spring league with no pads. Why? Because, according to the coaches, the team right now looks great, fast, and has no glaring holes.
I'm actually excited for the Lions this year. Mayhew is actually doing a pretty good job. compare our defense this year to last year. huge upgrade. also great pick up on Foote. I still would have liked Maulauga though.
People around here are extremely geeked about Foote. No doubt they remember his glory days at UM as a bone-rattling tackler. The bad news: he's got seven years of NFL mileage on that body, and his tackles have decreased significantly the last four years. The good news: he hasn't missed a game since his rookie season, and he's a dramatic, DRAMATIC upgrade over Paris Lenon.
I still would've liked Aaron Curry in the middle, as both a player and a leader, but Foote will have to do.
